My Lifemasters Team-building experience.
I had a very difficult time at work and no longer felt part of the team due to various circumstances and things that happened involving several members of our team.
The main issue was addressed and finalised.
I made a conscious decision to put the past behind me and continue with my work in the same manner as I have always done.
However, that is often easier said than done. I was afraid of my team members, afraid of the influence and affect they could have on my career and ultimately my family and life.
I did not trust most of them because I did not believe they could act in a trustworthy manner.
I would jump every time the telephone rang in anticipation that something has gone awry.
My work life was hell and was beginning to trickle over into my personal life. The change came as sudden and as unexpected as the issue that created this nightmare in the first place.
The change was not subtle and was a combination of a revival in my religious life and our church with regard to our purpose here on earth, and a team building session lead by Tony Dovale from Lifemasters.
I had never believed trust to be a conscious decision, but rather something that another person should earn.
Boy was I wrong! I was given the opportunity at the workshop to express and let go of my fears and issues with my team members.
It was such and uplifting experience.
I went away from this workshop again, a whole person, confident, forgiving and taking responsibility for event that happen in my life.
The change in our team has been a sustained one, and it is absolutely unbelievable to what extent this has made us tolerant, efficient, trustworthy and honest.
It elevated the team and the members of it to good, considerate, loving, caring and giving people, which is what I believe we are here on earth for.
